traubensaft collective is an art collective formed by Zannah Marsh and Uta Hinrichs. We work with data in digital media, but our practice also extends to using traditional physical art materials and everyday objects and artifacts. We seek to create engaging and inspiring experiences for participants that encourage awareness and invite new perspectives on known phenomena. One strategy we employ is creating meaning and developing narratives through the arrangement, organization, and re-presentation of data. We find user/viewer participation can transform ideas and expand them into unexpected territories. Giving over a work to participants it requires flexibility, a willingness to welcome accidents. Together we engage in a playful, adventurous process bridging our diverse backgrounds and interests in art, design, life science, and computer sciences, through humorous discussions, negotiation, and philosophical conversation.
